It can’t be overstated how scary this is.

There are reports coming in about police having made raids on universities, seizing literature about the history of fascism, interrupting classes, removing anti-fascist displays, and prohibiting an event in Rio Grande do Sul titled “Contra o Fascismo, Pela Democracia” (Against Fascism, For Democracy), all by claiming that they were stopping attempts at influencing the election or relating ideological propaganda.

And this is not something especially new, but a resurgence and empowering of an evil that especially targets Afro-Brasilians and indigenous peoples.
